Lisa is a writer and author who lives in Orlando, Florida, with her husband Dennis. She graduated with a Communications degree from the University of Utah. When she first encountered the Author of Life in college, she began to see the world in a kaleidoscope of color she had not experienced before. Her story took an abrupt turn and a passion for journeying with people into their stories was birthed. As she made the excruciating trek out of Mormonism into a relationship with the biblical God, a desire was birthed within her to journey with others through their deep waters. As each person’s story gives snapshots of a larger story, she finds that her favorite pieces of art are the people she encounters every day. To know and be known, to journey with another, to put words to the canvas of another’s life when they could not find them—these are treasured gifts.
Momma
Lisa loves being a mom. She and the kids survived 14 years of homeschooling—and found it knit them together in a unique way. Now she delights in a season in which they are marrying and bringing other kids into her life with whom to journey. She can’t get enough of these people.

Dennis Brockman

Dennis is a graduate of the University of Utah where he studied physical education. From there, he served with Cru for 37 years in many different roles. In April of 2020, Dennis transitioned to Heart of the City Foundation as the Foundation Director. Though he is not full-time with Cru now, he still invests some of his time in the mission that will always hold a piece of his heart. Beyond his work, he enjoys riding his trike, listening to and watching tech broadcasts, photographing his family and nature, and spending time with his family.
