It is true, I am now 48. Some might look at that number and say, "Wow, he is really old." My kids might be tempted to do that. :) However, in light of eternity, what is 48 years?  John 5:28-29 says that we will rise to live forever or we rise to live condemned forever. So when you and I are 10,000 years old, we will laugh at the thought of turning 48...right? Well only if we rise to live. Thankfully God has showed us the way to that life in a verse preceding these verses. Recorded in John 5.24 it says, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." I believe. So this birthday and all the ones to come are full of hope and peace. :)

It is my hope that everyone would have this same hopeful and peaceful outlook on their lives. If you are exploring this further perhaps looking at God's story and seeing how you fit into it would be helpful. I have found a tool on the web called Life@Large that is helpful in telling this story. Click Life@Large to open it. I would recommend the Life@Large story line. Click on it to begin.
