our mission

Our mission is to help fulfill the Great Commission that God gave us recorded in Matthew 28:18-20. Our response is to help create movements everywhere so that everyone knows at least someone who is following Jesus. The Cru Campus purpose is to turn lost students into Christ-centered laborers. We have three strategies to help us do that. We call it WBS or win, build and send. Win students to Christ, build them up in their relationship with Him, and then send them to do the same with their peers and where ever our Father in heaven takes them.

Sound easy? It takes more than 3,300 staff working here in the United States and more then 400 working overseas and all told we have movements on more than 1,500 campus here in the United States and 300 more overseas. That is a start, but it far short from reaching every student. The work must go on and we must continue to grow.

It is estimated that there are more than 100 million college students today around the world, and it is our goal that each of them might know someone who is following Jesus. Our staff are working, praying, and planning to make that happen. It is a gargantuan task.

Since 1951 when Bill and Vonette Bright began working at UCLA, Campus Crusade for Christ/Cru has always been about people reaching people with the message that God loves them and created them to know Him. It has expanded to 191 countries, and besides the Cru Campus ministry there are more than 25 other ministries designed to reach specific ministry audiences.

Kelvin is a 4:39 min/sec film that depicts a true story of our ministry in action, and it illustrates what we work to see happen on all our campuses. It demonstrates a path to fulfilling our mission.
